India has agreed to get inspected of its two Indian hydro projects through Pakistani experts at end of next month. Indian delegate also assured Pakistan of taking up its objections seriously. India agree to resolve them amicably in the light of technical memorandums. Therefore, The two countries will prepare and exchange memorandums in next meeting, held in New Delhi. During the visit, Pakistani experts will minutely examine sites, construction in the light of provisions of Indus Water Treaty. Interestingly, India has refused to address Pakistan’s objection over designs of two indian hydro projects on River Chenab in Occupied Kashmir.
According to sources, Pakistani delegation declared Pakal Dul and Lower Kalnai construction a clear violation of Indus Water Treaty. Moreover, Pakistan arranged the talks at the Nespak building in Model Town. There is no arrangement of official media briefing at end of the talks although large number of journalists was present there. After the talks, Pakistan’s Commissioner for Indus Waters Mehr Ali told that here is no statement on the issue. Shah said, it is sensitive matter and we are bound to speak on it. The Foreign Office will issue the statement in this regard. According to sources, it was a routine annual meeting of two commissioners and nothing extraordinary in all that.
They added, India might invite Pakistani side in near future for a visit to the two project sites. Pakistan raised objection on spillway gates of the project. Adding more, Pakistani side also raised similar design objections against the construction of Lower Kalnai.
