Plants Pakistan : Mass Tree Plantation in UAF

Under Plants Pakistan slogan Mass Tree Plantation campaign was launched in University of Agriculture Faisalabad with collaboration of Serena Hotel. Therefore, Saplings were planted at Laboratory Higher Secondary School for Boys UAF. Senior Professor Dr. Zafar Iqbal Randhawa and General Manager Serena Hotel Saqib Ahmad along with School alumni planted threes. Addressing the participants, Dr. Zafar Iqbal emphasized on need of tree plantation. In addition, he said that Plants Pakistan is a big campaign and everyone has to participate in it. Dr. Zafar said that UAF will also assist government organizations in a way to make country greener place of globe.

Consequently, UAF is a vibrant community of 40 thousands young students, faculty and staffhe added. UAF will make big difference in planting thousands of saplings on canal banks throughout county in “Plants Pakistan” campaign. He told that during the recent months, UAF experts have successfully planted one million moringa trees across the country.

Plants Pakistan and Global Warming

Furthermore, Dr. Randhawa described 2.5 percent forest net of the country a negligible figure. Its need of time that we stood up and try to raise forest net at global level, accordingly. We can meet global warming challenges posed by climate change by successful “Plants Pakistan” Campaign. In this regard, he emphasized that monitoring of plants is very important with plantation. Dr Zafar urged the youth and University community to collectively plant trees for creating awareness about benefits of forests. Dr. Zafar said we have to focus to plant species according to area and weather conditions. He said that UAF will plant saplings on the names of soldiers who gave their lives for Pakistan. It’s a way to pay tribute to the brave solders during Plant Pakistan campaign.

Global Champion of Moringa, Dr. Shahzad Maqsood said that his team has distributed one million moringa trees across the country.
